Since teaching myself editing a few years ago several video projects have come my way — there are plenty of examples throughout this site. Here are a few more.

 

d&b House of Worship. Just stills, a simple heartbeat and some carefully chosen words. My 12-second teaser for a specific audience with a theme of getting “Closer”.

 

Byron burgers. Part of the pitch creative – a digital street sign, “B”, with a series of creative interactions became the new identity for the brand.

 

Help for Heroes. Emotive pitch video focusing on the fight for a better future for veterans.

Bristol Media. Vision conference theme of “opening your mind to new ideas”. For an added disruptive element, I added an RGB glitch to video and stills for the digital signage.

 

Vagabond Wines. The MD of a chain of London wine bars asked me to re-edit a video they’d commissioned. My time was spent trawling through endless footage, proposing music and telling a story using supplied footage of varying quality.

 

Soho Coffee Co. Website banner video. One day spent in London on a recce with a videographer, in and around a busy Soho coffee house. Devised the storyboard, liaised with account handlers, clients, staff and the videographer, and art directed on the day.

Low, Disarray Challenge. I jumped at the chance to create a video for one of my favourite bands in a competition to promote a new track.

 

I started filming live bands and artists to practice my editing skills. Nothing fancy, just a few songs recorded on my phone or cheap camcorder. But it sparked a love for editing to music; to a beat or a sound. Now it’s my favourite thing to do.
